1 甲状腺の重要性と理解

甲状腺は小さいながら極めて重要な腺で、首の前面下部にあります。代謝率からエネルギー産生、体温、正常な成長、髪の密度、アンドロゲンの働きに至るまで、体のほぼすべての領域と結びついています。すべてに影響する以上、よくあるように見過ごしてはいけません。

ホルモンといえば誰もがまずテストステロンに目を向けますが、甲状腺はあまりに軽視されがちです。むしろそれ以上に重要とも言えるため、ガイドを書く必要があると感じました。しかも甲状腺は体の中でも特に繊細な腺で、現代の環境によって簡単にダメージを受け、機能が低下します。そのため多くの人が甲状腺機能の低下を抱えたまま、それに気づいていません。しかし、いったんその機能を取り戻せば生活は変わります。それまでになかったエネルギーと活力が手に入ります。

The thyroid is a small but incredibly crucial gland that is found at the bottom front of your neck. The key thing to note about this gland is that It releases two key hormones: T4 and T3. Both of these are regulated by what is called the hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid or HPT axis. This axis essentially depicts a feedback loop that looks like the following: the hypothalamus detects low thyroid hormone levels in the blood, causing it to release thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH), telling the pituitary gland to release thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), which then stimulates the thyroid to produce more T4 and T3. - While T4 is the most abundant hormone released, it is mostly inactive and must be converted into T3. This is the active form that our cells can actually utilise and benefit from. (leads to the benefits mentioned above, metabolic boost, hair growth etc etc) - This conversion occurs mostly in the liver (more on the liver and thyroid later) With this basic understanding of how the thyroid works, lets now get to the good part – how to increase it, or most likely, restore it to its original function.
