簡単な導入を終えたところで、DHTとは実際に何なのかを見ていきましょう。

DHTとは何か、なぜ重要なのか

DHTはテストステロンから作られるホルモンです。テストステロンと同じくアンドロゲンであり、アンドロゲン受容体に結合して作用します。ただしテストステロンと違い、DHTは3〜5倍強力で、アンドロゲン受容体に対してはるかに強い作用を及ぼします。少ない量でより大きな身体的変化を生み出すという点が、DHTが重要視される最大の理由です。DHTを最適化することで得られる効果の一部を挙げます。

このように、最大化する価値は非常に大きいものです。

どのように作られるのか

単純に言えば、すべては1つの重要な酵素、5α-リダクターゼに行き着きます。体内のテストステロンを実際にDHTへ変換させるのが、この酵素です。

With the brief introduction out of the way, lets now discuss what DHT actually is... ### **What is DHT and why is it important?** DHT is a hormone created from testosterone. Like testosterone, it is an androgen, and so binds to the androgen receptor to exert its effects. Unlike testosterone, however, DHT is **3-5x more potent**, and exerts much more powerful effects on that androgen receptor. This leads to much more physical change, from less of the compound, which is the main overarching reason for its importance... Here is a list of just some of the benefits that DHT brings about if optimised: - **Fat-Burning Properties (A Fat Blowtorch):** - **Inhibits fat cell production:** DHT reduces the conversion of pre-adipocytes into proper fat cells by downregulating gene expressions that are involved in fat storage. - **Promotes fat cell death:** It triggers apoptosis (programmed cell death) in adipocytes, which directly lowers fat cell count. - **Enhances the conversion of fat into fuel:** DHT stimulates lipolysis which is the the breakdown of triglycerides into free fatty acids. These can then be burned for energy. - **Keeps cortisol levels low:** DHT completely antagonizes/modulates cortisol receptors and so limits the negative effects of cortisol like fat storage and catabolism (muscle breakdown). - **Does Not Aromatize into Estrogen:** - Unlike testosterone, DHT is not converted into estrogen by the enzyme aromatase. As a result, it is completely resistant to feminising effects like water retention and gyno. On top of this... - **It Blocks Feminine Hormones:** - **Inhibits estrogen production:** DHT downregulates aromatase activity and binds to estrogen receptors. So not only does it not convert into estrogen, it actually blocks estrogenic activity in the first place - **Blocks vasopressin:** By doing this, DHT minimises water retention, which provides this lean and grainy look to the physique. - **Supports Masculine Features and Performance:** - **Increases strength and muscle growth:** DHT amplifies androgen receptor activation in muscle tissues, enhancing protein synthesis and anabolic effects. - **Enhances bone density:** DHT promotes osteoblast activity and reduces bone resorption. - **Boosts confidence and assertiveness:** DHT influences neural circuits associated with dominance and self-assurance. - **Elevates libido:** DHT’s heightened affinity for androgen receptors in the brain stimulates sexual drive and energy.
