Zygopushing and Lymphatic Drainage(ジゴプッシングとリンパドレナージュ)

While not a functional technique, it is nonetheless a crucial practice to start implementing. Essentially, in the body there is a system called the lymphatic system, and many completely overlook it. Not only is it pivotal for health (discussed in the detox guide in healthmaxxing), but it is super important to manage when it comes to facial aesthetics. In essence, the lymphatic system is a network of passages that run throughout the body that contain a fluid called lymph. Sometimes, this lymph gets caught up and trapped in various parts of the body (because this system lacks a pump), including the face, leading to that appearance of bloating and puffiness.
In this guide, Im showing you the two techniques revolving around this idea of lymphatic drainage, both of which are highly effective. Here they are:
---
### **1. Zygopushing**
1. **Hand Placement**: Use your thumbs of both hands. Place them along the zygomatic arches (cheekbones) starting from the outer corners of the nose towards the ears.
2. **Pressure Application**: Apply firm but gentle upward and outward pressure along the cheekbones.
3. **Facial Engagement**: While pushing, lightly engage the cheek muscles by attempting a soft smile. This activates the zygomaticus major and minor muscles for even more effect.
4. **Hold and Repeat**: Hold each push for 5-10 seconds. Perform 10 repetitions, gradually increasing pressure with each,
5. **Consistency**: Practice daily, ideally in the morning or evening when muscles are relaxed. Incorporate with other facial exercises for best results.
**Why It Works**: Not only does it give an instant 'debloat' effect due to lymphatic drainage, it also mechanically stimulates the zygomatic region which will boost blood flow and muscle activation. This leads to the hypertrophy and growth of the zygomaticus muscles, aswell as a bone remodelling effect. Over time, this can seriously add to the results of the other 6 core techniques.

### **2. The Gua Sha Technique:**
### **Step 1: Apply Organic Castor Oil to the Face and Neck**
- Castor oil is amazing for this in that it promotes bloodflow and circulated when massaged into the skin, whilst reducing inflammation (reducing puffiness further).
- Make sure it is rubbed in properly, all around the face and neck.
- It acts as a lubricant, which is crucial for step 2.
### **Step 2: Cold Gua Sha Massage Routine**
**1. Start at the Collarbone**
- Place the gua sha tool flat against the skin just above the collarbone.
- Gently glide it in downward strokes toward the center of the collarbone to stimulate the lymph nodes in this area.
- Repeat 5–7 times on each side.
**2. Jawline and Chin**
- Use the curved edge of the cold gua sha tool under the chin.
- Glide outward along the jawline toward the ears, using light to moderate pressure.
- Repeat this movement 5–7 times on each side
**3. Cheeks and Nasolabial Folds**
- Hold the gua sha tool flat against your skin, starting near the sides of your nose.
- Gently sweep outward along the cheekbones toward the temples.
- Repeat 5–7 times on each side
**4. Under-Eyes**
- Use the smallest, flattest edge of the gua sha tool to avoid putting too much pressure on this delicate area.
- Starting at the inner corner of the eye, glide the tool outward toward the temples.
- Repeat 5–7 times per side
**5. Forehead and Temples**
- Place the gua sha tool in the middle of your forehead.
- Glide outward toward the temples in smooth, light strokes.
- Once at the temples, use small, circular motions to stimulate the lymph nodes.
- Repeat this motion 5–7 times.
**6. Drain Downward**
- To finish, sweep the gua sha tool from the sides of the face (starting at the temples and jawline) down the neck toward the collarbone.
- This encourages lymph fluid to flow to the larger drainage points for elimination.
- Repeat 5–7 times on each side.
